To be Brutally Honest

Trying to start something new and inspiring is so frustrating. You want everyone to jump on board and ride the wave you want to create but you either hit the roadblock of where to start or just the fact nobody is following but just you.
Right now, I am going for a walk. This phrase comes from a leadership parable that says that a leader needs followers otherwise you are just going for a walk. Right now, I want to write this blog post because at the moment I am just going for a walk. But this walk has intention. I want to test the waters. I want to go on ahead and make sure it is safe for the people I want to influence.
I want to create a business based on leadership, giving hope, being positive, connecting young people with very good experienced leaders, inspiring young people they can make a difference and empowering them to do so. Ok, so what? I feel like everyone wants to do this to some capacity. Why do I think I am so different?
Well, for right now I think I know how to do these things. I know that I can connect with young leaders through an engaging podcast that tells stories and interviews people who have already done it. I know I can inspire young leaders by offering a blog or a magazine to read full of valuable content which enables trust and takes care of their attention that they have given. I know that most of the great leaders we hear about today have mentors and masterminds and people they can bounce ideas off of, share their struggles and be empowered by their peers. I also know that there is no reason that a group of young people can do the same with the humility needed to listen and reflect.
I have a network that I wish more people would know about and learn from. I have the ability to do it. But the question is who would listen? Do I have what it takes to walk with these young beautiful minds? Do I, a young person myself, have the ability and influence needed?
To be brutally honest, comparably probably not. There are way more people who would be better equipped for this. But they haven't done it. So if this idea serves the purpose to kickstart someone else to go for it, I will see that as a success. I want to connect with them, inspire them, and empower them to do what they are meant to do and I want them to do the same for me. Actually, scratch that, we are doing it! :)
